Trump is headed for Kenosha today. There aren’t any plans for him to meet with Jacob Blake’s family because he says they want lawyers involved. He says he spoke to Jacob Blake’s family pastor, though. The Blake family says they don’t have a pastor.
Trump and the Republicans are downplaying the coronavirus because they’re worried it will hurt them in the upcoming election. It’s no big deal. It was never a big deal. Herd immunity will take care of everything. If you lost your job or your business because your Democratic mayor or governor told everybody to stay home, that’s on the Democrats, not them.
In Florida, Governor DeSantis went on a PR tour with herd immunity advocate Scott Atlas and said lighten up and get back to class. “Can you imagine if we carpet bombed every school, K through 12, for flu tests? How many influenza positive tests would we have?”
New York City ER doctor, Craig Spencer said, “‘Herd immunity’ is the Macarena. Sure, it sounds good when you first hear it. But trust me you don’t want to see what happens next.”
Trump held another big important press briefing so he could campaign. He made an ass out of himself, as usual, and the press treated him like he was a serious president, as usual. He told reporters that Joe Biden is using mafia talking points and wouldn’t condemn Kyle Rittenhouse for murdering 2 protesters in Kenosha. It was self defense. He said, “That was an interesting situation” and “I guess he was in very big trouble.” The White House was looking into it. He told a CNN reporter that “your protesters” shot someone.
Later on in the day, Fox aired an interview with Trump and Laura Ingraham where he said that Joe Biden is under investigation for the rioting in the streets. Don’t laugh. His cult followers blame Biden too. He will end the violence in the Democratic run cities. He claimed that Portland has been burning for years. “Years and years of burning.” Decades! He compared it to “a city someplace in the world that’s not so good” but couldn’t name that not-so-good city. He eluded to there being some sort of thwarted terror plot against the RNC involving “thugs” on a plane. “They came from a certain city and this person was coming to the Republican National Convention. There were like seven people on the plane like this person, and then a lot of people were on the plane to do big damage…….We had somebody get on a plane from a certain city this weekend, and in the plane it was almost completely loaded with thugs, wearing these dark uniforms, black uniforms, with gear and this and that. They’re on a plane.” He couldn’t reveal anymore about it because of the “investigation.” He said that people in dark shadows not only control the streets but they also control Joe Biden. “At some point I will not be president. Hopefully that will be in five years from now. But I will not be president. And they’re going to die, they’re all going to die.” He compared Jacob Blake getting shot to a bad putt. “You know a choker they choke. Shooting a guy in the back many times couldn’t you have done something different… in the meantime he might have been going for a weapon… but they choke just like in a golf tournament they miss a 3 foot putt….”
Trump says BLM is a Marxist organization. Nobody asks him if he knows what a Marxist is. He doesn’t. His base doesn’t know either and that’s all that matters.
Joe Biden made a speech in Pittsburgh where he said, “You know me. You know my heart. Ask yourself, do I look like a radical socialist with a soft spot for rioters? Really?” As he was walking into the event holding a few pizzas, a MAGA heckled him from atop of his truck and Joe said, “Don’t jump!”
175 people have been arrested for the violence in Kenosha. 102 of them came from 44 different cities. The murderer was from another state. Trump’s vigilantes are organizing online and are locked, loaded, and waiting for their next assignment.
Kyle Rittenhouse’s attorney has praised his client for what he has done. “This is a 17 year old kid. This is amazing what he did.” He plans to argue that the teen was part of a “well regulated militia” protected by the second amendment.
New York Times reporter, Michael Schmidt, has a new book coming out today, “Donald Trump v. the United States — Inside the Struggle to Stop a President.” In it he writes that Trump wanted to give the 2 SCOTUS seats to his buddies Rudy Giuliani and Fox News’ Judge Napolitano. He let White House counsel Tom McGahn pick all the rest. He didn’t know that he didn’t have the power to put Clinton and Comey in jail. Mitch McConnell fell asleep during a classified briefing about Russia. Mike Pence was put on notice that he might be needed to step in and assume the presidency back in November just in case Trump would have to be put under anesthesia when he was rushed to Walter Reed Hospital for his “partial physical” that was really a “cerebral event” (a stroke.) Rod Rosenstein interfered with Bob Mueller investigating if Trump was a Russian agent. Turns out nobody has been investigating this. It’s been 4 years.
Rent is due today. Trump and the Republicans don’t care. Over 183,000 people are dead. Trump and the Republicans don’t care. Millions are unemployed and waiting in long food lines. Trump and the Republicans don’t care. Thousands of businesses have closed. Trump and the Republicans don’t care. Trump started race wars in the streets. Republicans don’t care.
