Weight of the World
It’s been a year since Russia invaded Ukraine. To commemorate it, President Biden made a long journey in secret to meet with President Zelensky in Ukraine. He made a speech in Poland first and then went to Kyiv and made history again when he became the first US president to walk in a war zone. During an air raid. He travelled a long distance in secret, at night, via car and train. This was a surprise to everybody but a small few who were part of the planning. The occasion not only marked one year of war, but it was also Presidents’ Day in the US and a day of remembrance for Ukraine. Putin had made his own Wait of the World speech during this time. Those two blew his timing by taking world wide attention away from him. They made him mad.
Joe Biden made Zelensky cry when he gave him a dad hug, acknowledging the weight of the world that he was carrying on his soldiers.
By contrast, Biden’s predecessor backed out of a Memorial Day ceremony because it was raining and he didn’t want to get his wig wet. Besides, why would he want to honor a bunch of suckers and losers who got themselves killed during a war? He also hid in the White House bunker because he was afraid of the Black people yelling at him out on the street. He shit his diaper when a balloon popped during a MAGA rally when his body guards rushed the stage to save him.
Marjorie Taylor Greene calls the war in Ukraine “Biden’s war.” Matt Gaetz and 10 other MAGA Republicans have submitted a “Ukraine Fatigue” bill.
QAnon weirdos went nuts over a black mark on Biden’s forehead. A black mark can be found on Biden’s forehead every year at this time along with other devout Catholics, because it’s Ash Wednesday. Since QAnon weirdos don’t know anything about Christianity the black mark must be something else. Is it an alien third eye? A scar made by a Jewish space laser? Is it a lizard people world domination tattoo? Did he fall and hit his head on Hunter’s laptop?
Fox is blaming Joe Biden and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg for the train derailment in Ohio. The blame lies with Trump and the Republicans who eliminated government regulations to prevent this crap from happening. Remember when he did the ribbon cutting ceremony where he used a giant pair of scissors to cut through a giant red tape in front of stacks of reams of paper to symbolize his historical achievement of deregulating everything so corporations could do whatever they want? MAGAs say don’t blame Trump because he’s not the president anymore. Say what? Since when? Does Fox know?
Trump exploited the crash and used the opportunity to campaign in Palestine, Ohio. He spoke from a campaign podium with cases of Trump brand bottled water next to him, wearing his ridiculous red MAGA hat. When he was accused of dumping expired 13 year old water on people he made sure that everybody knew that that water came from his hotels. He made money off of his own bottled water by having his campaign buy it to give away as campaign swag. He dropped in to a McDonald’s wearing his MAGA hat and told them he knew their menu better than they did. When he left he yelled out, “Have fun everybody!” Puerto Rico revisited. Only this time he’s not the president. No paper towels to clean up a natural disaster. Just crummy deregulated tap water branded “Trump” to wash down the chemical disaster with.
Palestine middle schoolers were interviewed out in the street wearing Trump flags as capes expressing how excited they were that the school district is letting them drink from the water fountains at school now. One of them let it slip that they have runny noses and headaches that don’t go away until they leave town. These kids have the weight of the world on their shoulders and they don’t even know it. Their generation is stuck with having to clean up the mess that has been left to them plus they have parents who dress them in Trump flags.
Pete Buttigieg took Trump down in a press conference in Palestine in a way only Pete can do. “You water down regulations, you weaken the power of the administration to deal with freight railroad companies, and then you show up wanting to be a great friend of the people who have been impacted by a rail disaster.”
Rudy got in on the action, too. He travelled to Palestine as if he were a president travelling to a war torn country or a mayor headed straight into the rubble left by a domestic terrorist attack. He said people there had been coming up to him asking why Biden hates them.
On President’s Day, Marjorie Taylor Greene, a member of Congress, tweeted: We need a national divorce.
Speaker Kevin McCarthy didn’t denounce the member of Congress calling for secession. He didn’t take her off of the Homeland Security Committee either. Marjorie is getting all sorts of media attention for her call for civil war. She said, “The last thing I ever want to see in America is a civil war but it’s going in that direction.” How does she know this? From all the “likes and retweets” she got. She believes it is time that we separate red and blue states and shrink the federal government. Democrats can move to Republican states but they can’t vote for 5 years. Marjorie also tweeted about immigration. She claimed that 6 billion have crossed our border. There are 7.8 billion people in the world. Marjorie Taylor Greene is a fucking idiot. A white nationalist. A QAnon weirdo who is sitting in Speaker McCarthy’s lap. The weight of the world is on Kevin McCarthy’s thighs but he’s not phased by it. I’m the speaker! I’m the speaker! Look at me! I’m the speaker!
The party that’s telling us that states have the right to secede also brags that they are the party of Lincoln, a man who literally carried the weight of the world on his soldiers, who was far smarter and wiser than any Republican in Congress today, who saw the big picture, who was so fair and so bi-partisan that his vice president was a Democrat, who saved the nation and risked his own political career to do the right thing and then was murdered for it. Abraham Lincoln was no Republican by today’s standards. Lincoln was more of a 21st Century Democrat. Abraham Lincoln was woke.
