White Man Out
Mike Pence’s former chief of staff, Marc Short and his legal counsel, Greg Jacob testified before the grand jury last week. They only reason why we know it is that the press happened to be covering Steve Bannon when they walked in. Both men were in the room when John Eastman pressed Mike Pence to go along with his plan. This is not only proof that federal prosecutors are investigating the coup, but it’s also proof that they’re keeping tight lipped about it. They’re so tight lipped that people are freaking out, thinking that they’re not doing anything at all. Relax. DOJ has got this.
Marc Short and Greg Jacob were already cooperating with the Select Committee.
Mark Meadows was seen walking in DC a day after Marc Short testified but he wouldn’t answer any questions about what he was doing there. He just kept looking at his phone like he did all day on January 6. The last time he was in DC was when he left in January 2021. He has not been cooperating with the Select Committee but Merrick Garland said he better.
He better or he’s out?
Liz Cheney told CNN that the Select Committee is considering subpoenaing Ginni Thomas over the texts she sent to Mark Meadows.
40 people who used to work for the DOJ are advising the Select Committee. They are keeping a formal arm’s length distance from DOJ as well they should.
157 House Republicans voted against legislation to codify same-sex marriage as a pro-active measure for the what the Supreme Court will surely do next year — strike down marriage rights for LGBTQ citizens. Republican member of Congress from Pennsylvania, Glenn Thompson attended his gay son’s wedding 3 days after voting against the bill. A bunch of Republicans voted no after having a productive meeting with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, too, a colleague who is openly gay and married. They showed him respect one minute and then turned their backs on him and showed him the utmost disrespect by voting against him having the same rights they have.
By voting no on gay marriage they also voted no on protecting interracial marriage. White man is out if he happens to be married to someone who isn’t white or in Clarence Thomas’s case, he’s out because his wife is white.
Turning Point USA, a white nationalist organization that poses as a nonprofit that advocates for conservative values on high school, college, and university campuses, held a summit in Tampa, Florida over the weekend. Nazi flags flew outside of the convention center but the media gave them a pass. Not a single Republican denounced it. Trump spoke because he had nothing better to do. Matt Gaetz spoke about abortion, saying the only ones women who want to march for abortion rights are too fat and ugly to impregnate in the first place. Lauren Boebert said she has never been a paid escort for Ted Cruz and Ted Cruz said his pronouns are kiss/my/ass. Junior told the kids, “Don’t do drugs!” (not with words actually, but with his twitching, sweaty, strung out, worn down middle aged body and unshaven face.) Self proclaimed Christian Nationalist, Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke too, because like Trump, she had nothing better to do.
White nationalist groups are marching in the streets all across America and people blow them off as far right wackos exercising their First Amendment rights. They’re dangerous and they tried to take over the government. When are we going to treat them as domestic terrorists and not fringe freaks and deranged weirdos?
Roger Stone is mad at people on Twitter for calling him a white nationalist. He can’t be racist because he’s been critical of the “War of Drugs.”
White nationalists are worse than white supremacist. White supremacists believe that anything that helps people of color must hurt white people and that in order stay “up” they need to hold others “down.” They think in terms of us and them. Being open minded is disloyal to the their race and thinking critically is a liberal trap. They think Jesus was a white man who only spoke English. They’re afraid of losing something they believe is their birth right — social status. White nationalists believe the same things but they cloak themselves in Christianity, the one true religion, and that everything they say and do, no matter how cruel, is sanctioned by their God. These guys are all over the place in our government now, from school board to Capitol Hill, from traffic court to Supreme Court, from the local cops to the Secret Service.
