Why Are People So Mean?
The DOJ delivered a 36 page response to the Federalist Society judge that Trump appointed, Aileen Cannon, explaining that Trump has no business asking for the documents back that the FBI seized at Mar-a-Lago because they don’t belong to him, plus he obstructed a grand jury subpoena and a criminal investigation. They included a photo that they took of some of the documents that they found, laid out on the floor of his tacky country club, right next to a box of framed TIME magazine covers with Trump, after Trump’s idiot lawyers lied and signed a letter certifying that they had returned all the classified materials. The FBI went to Mar-a-Lago after he was asked three times to hand them over. They discovered twice as many documents with the warrant than what Trump returned voluntarily. In total, the feds have recovered more than 320 classified documents since January. More than 100 were seized in the August search — 33 boxes and containers.
Espionage seems to be where Fox and the GOP have finally drawn the line. Not for the country, but because staying loyal to Trump is now a liability for Republicans on the ballot in November. Fox actually reported what the DOJ did and ran the photo of evidence. The RNC pulled the plug on paying for his legal fees. Republican candidates scrubbed their websites of their Trump endorsements and extreme positions. The only repugs he’s got left who are squarely in his corner are Ted Cruz (who says that the FBI needs to be investigated for doing this) and Lindsey Graham (who is encouraging people to get violent in the streets on Trump’s behalf). Whatever he’s got on those two must be pretty bad if they’re still with him.
The Google Play Store has blocked Trump’s Truth Social app due to threats of violence so now Trump is cut off from millions of his MAGA supporters online.
Trump freaked out all day yesterday, posting truly insane stuff like, “Why are people so mean?” There is a clinical name for this. It’s called “narcissistic collapse” and it happens when someone with narcissistic personality disorder can no longer keep up the façade of being bigger and greater than everybody else. His grandiose self image has been threatened. He feels belittled, made fun of, targeted, and disrespected. He can’t take the absence of validation so he’s losing it.
While Trump was flipping out and the repugs were backing off, Biden was hitting the repugs hard during a speech he made at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania to announce his Safer America Plan. He called the MAGA Republicans out for being hypocrites. They aren’t the law and order party. He said, “Don’t tell me you support law enforcement if you won’t condemn what happened on the 6th. FOR GOD’S SAKE, WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON? You can’t be a party of law and order and call the people who attacked law enforcement on January 6th ‘patriots’.” He called them out for their refusal to do anything about mass shootings, too. “It’s time to hold every elected official’s feet to the fire and ask, ‘Are you for banning assault weapons? Yes or no?’ Ask them. And if the answer is no, vote against them.” He laid out his “Safer America Plan” aimed at reducing gun violence. “I am determined to ban assault weapons in this country…….I did it once before and I’ll do it again.”
Like abortion, the Republicans are on the complete opposite, extreme side of where the country is with gun control.
Biden called Lindsey Graham out too, without mentioning his name, for threatening violence if Trump is prosecuted. “The idea you turn on a TV and see senior senators and congressmen saying, ‘If such and such happens, there will be blood in the street.’ Where the hell are we?” Trump knows Lindsey Graham’s biggest secrets. We’re all going to find out what they are soon enough. If his secrets don’t come out with everything else once Trump is indicted, Trump will blurt it out because he’s that mean.
