Why Would a Senator Want to do This?
President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris went to Atlanta, Georgia to push for voting rights legislation. Biden called out the Republicans for their plan to avert the election by giving themselves power to remove election officials who are already being harassed, stalked and threatened by Trump and his MAGAs. He called out Trump for asking Georgia’s Secretary of State to “find” him enough votes to win and mentioned the new law that Republicans passed in Georgia that will put loyalists in charge of state elections so that the votes of 5 million Georgians could be sabotaged if that law holds. He mentioned that there are 34 other state laws just like this one and 400 potentially more — all designed to make voting harder. He actually called this Jim Crow 2.0 and said the whole 50 state plan is built around voter oppression and election subversion. He called for new, strong federal laws to protect voting rights (talking to you, Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.) He said he’s tired of having quiet conversations with members of Congress behind closed doors and that voting rights must be protected with a simple majority. He supports changing the Senate rules to prevent a minority of senators from blocking action. Why wouldn’t senators want to do this?
Voting rights has already passed in the House. Everything hinges on the useless, partisan, weak Senate that acquitted Trump TWICE. Senators don’t want to change the rules (even though they have already done it 160 other times) to protect every vote. Why would a senator want to do this?
Vice President Harris said, “The Constitution of the United States gives the Congress the power to pass legislation, and nowhere does the Constitution give a minority the right to unilaterally block legislation. The American people have waited long enough. The Senate must act…….Across our nation, anti-voter laws could make it more difficult for as many as 55 million Americans to vote. That is one out of six people in our country.”
The Senate must act, but it refuses. Why would senators want to do this?
Hey Kyrsten Sinema! MLK Day is coming up. Your state was the last state to accept MLK Day as a federal holiday. Your state is also the state that conducted the bogus Cyber Ninja “audit” of the 2020 election. Do you really want Arizona to go down in history again as being the defenders of Jim Crow 2.0? Do you really not want every vote to be counted? Why would you want to do this?
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham says that the Dems are making voting rights a partisan issue — “the most hyped, manufactured issue in a long time…….This is an effort by the Democratic leader to basically say that Republicans, at our heart, are a bunch of racists when it comes to voting.”
Lindsey Graham cares more about politicizing voting rights legislation than passing voting rights legislation. Why would a senator want to do this?
White supremacy in Congress fun fact: Less than 12,000 Americans have ever served in Congress. Over 10% of them owned human beings and profited off of their free labor. Over 40 of them have been members of the KKK.
The old Republican party supported voting rights. Trumplican senators only want Trumplican votes counted. Why would Trumplican senators want to do this? So that Trumplicans can hold power forever.
Wisconsin Republicans pulled the same electoral forgery as Michigan and Arizona. While the actual electors were being assigned inside the state capitol in the city of Madison per protocol on the official count day, a group of Wisconsin Republicans secretly held their own separate, fake ceremony at the same time, inside the same Capitol, to cast electoral votes for Trump even though he lost. That makes a total of 3 states submitting fraudulent counts so far. The forgery looks coordinated — same font, same layout, same content and more states are expected to be involved. This is coordinated at a federal level. Who coordinated it? Jeffrey Clark, the DOJ attorney that Trump wanted to install as AG at the midnight hour, had a draft letter ready to go on December 28. If Trump had succeeded at making Clark attorney general, and if Pence had gone along with their plan to not certify the electoral votes, all Jeffrey Clark would have had to do was hit send on that letter to back up all of the forged certifications that state Republicans had submitted to make it official. Trump would have immediately been promoted to all powerful dictator. He would have declared martial law and the coup would have been complete. The coup was organized by Trump and a faction of the Republican party. All of the other Republicans except for Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger are complicit because they’re going along with the Big Lie. Why would members of Congress want to do this?
Dr. Fauci testified before the Senate again but this time he came ready for Rand Paul with receipts. He brought evidence that would call Rand Paul out for targeting him for political gain. As expected, Rand Paul made his usual attack on him, accusing him of being incompetent and corrupt. Dr. Fauci responded by telling the committee that he and his family have been targeted with death threats because Rand Paul and others have been assassinating his character to unleash the crazies out there who will literally then try and assassinate him. He brought print outs of Rand Paul’s campaign website with a picture of Dr Fauci and the caption “Fire Dr. Fauci” to get people to donate money. He asked the committee, “Why would a Senator want to do this? Go to Rand Paul’s website and you see ‘fire Dr. Fauci’ with a little box that says contribute here. So you are making catastrophic epidemic for your political gain.” Another senator, Republican Roger Marshall performed for the cameras too, thinking he had Fauci in a “gotcha” moment, accusing Dr. Fauci of witholding information about his personal finances. Dr. Fauci came back with the common knowledge that his financial information has been public knowledge for over 35 years and that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Then he said, “What a moron,” and “Jesus Christ,” not knowing that the mic was still on.
