Presidents Day

“The largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period, both in person and around the globe.” Who said that? Sean Spicer or Joseph Goebbels?

Another judge has ruled that Donald J. Trump, a grifting, criminal conman, a fake billionaire who the worst of the worst voted for and the entire Republican party fell in line behind, has ruled that the former loser president can’t be protected by immunity of the office because he wasn’t acting in his capacity as president on January 6 but as a pissed failed candidate who used his presidential powers to encourage a mob to attack the Capitol on his behalf. Members of Congress and the Capitol Police have brought a civil suit to sue Trump for damages against them personally. A judge says the civil trial against the loser president may proceed. Trump’s days are numbered. Oh happy day.

The civil case was brought using the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871. This is the first time in history that a former president has been accused of depriving citizens of their rights while conspiring against the government. Trump could be subject to civil liability and he will be deposed. The day that the former loser president has to take the stand will be a very bad day. For him. He could plead the fifth but he won’t and that’s going to be a great day for all of us suffering from PTSD (Post Trump Stress Disorder.)

A date has been set for the trial against Trump’s inauguration committee — September 26. The committee has been accused of taking nonprofit funds to pay for things to benefit the Trumps. The Trump Organization misused over $1 million in payments to the Trump hotel for event space during the president’s 2017 inauguration. Junior and Ivanka have already been deposed.

Trump used funds from his 2020 campaign to benefit himself, his family, his properties, and his businesses too. They skimmed millions and he keeps doing it. He’s got people thinking he’s going to run for president again so cult members will actually send him, a twice impeached, one term president, money.

“Half of the Presidential impeachments in American history belong to Donald Trump.” — Michael Beschloss

If Trump thought that his accountants dropping him and cooperating with the feds was the worst day of his life, it gets worse. A judge saying he can be deposed about falsifying his financial statements to get loans is worse. Then he had another bad day when he found out that he could lose the lease on his DC hotel after he misrepresented his financial status to defraud the government. If that happens, he’s out of business. No lease means he can’t sell his DC hotel.

Mike Pence has fallen back in line. He now agrees with the RNC calling the mob that tried to kill him patriots engaging in normal political discourse. He defended the committee for censuring Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. He thinks he’ll be president one day.

Trump was a petty, childish president fun fact: He had the portraits of Bush and Clinton put in storage while he was living in the White House because he didn’t want to see their faces when he walked by. He didn’t want to have to share the title of president. I am the president. I AM.

Lindsey Graham still refers to Trump as President Trump.

The real president, President Joe Biden, has not only had to clean up Trump’s mess, save democracy, keep Russia from blowing up the world, and restore our reputation in the global community, but he has to get Americans to understand that they can’t just be born here and enjoy all of the benefits of citizenship without giving anything back in return. Citizenship comes with obligations and duties. Who would have ever thought that there would be an American president who would not only have to convince some countries that democracy is better but have to convince Americans too?

This week in history, Adolf Hitler went on trial for attempting a coup in Germany. It was his first attempt to take power. Prior to this, he was brushed off as a right wing wacko. After the trial, he had become an international celebrity because he captured the imagination of Germans and people around the world with his powerful orator skills that he had been perfecting for years. His 4 hour grand stand “defense” turned out to be a campaign speech. I am the leader Germany needs! He was charged with high treason and should have spent the rest of his life in jail but instead he was sentenced to 5 years and only served 6 months. While in jail, he wrote his infamous manifesto, Mein Kampf. He had hypnotized enough Germans to vote for him (the same amount that Trump has convinced in America today) that he would become president of Germany 8 years later. The rest is history. The worst human history imaginable. We haven’t learned what we were supposed to learn from that evil dark time in history so here we are again.

It’s not only the 99th anniversary of Hitler’s treason trial. It’s Presidents Day in the US.

Trump is going to run for president again to save his ass. Until Trump came along, nobody knew that a criminal could hide inside the Oval Office and be protected because he’s above the law. It’s a great job for a lifetime criminal if you can get it. If he runs again and wins, he can’t be touched. He’ll grow more powerful, more deranged, and more vindictive. 1/3 of the country wants him to run again and will show up to vote for him. 2/3 of the country say they don’t want him to run again but if they don’t all show up to vote, he’ll win, just like Hitler did.
